I have stepped further and further away from politics and news throughout the last few years. Although I do feel less aware of what’s going on in the world you can still keep up with main stories even when not paying attention. Therefore the Ukraine invasion, Israel/Palestine thing has not gone entirely unnoticed. However un-concerning myself with such events that I cannot alter one bit has been great for me and I feel like I have benefitted from a non-doom scenario newsfeed. I see some things, but not enough to keep me angry on a regular basis, daily, if not many times a day. The easiest answer to this was to ignore it.
Local, national politics I had to step back from so now I know next to nothing about it. It’s unfortunate here that we have three levels to politics, local, national and UK wide and it’s the former as well as the latter that the fuelling of the anger fires. And although I am obviously an independence supporter I feel further away from the mainstream of that. The bickering and the arguing is exhausting and it’s just to get one over on the other team, and that’s all it boils down to. It goes on and on forever, so I choose out.
