Is it not the case that moral freedoms only work for those who have them? Those who do not act in their own way to achieve their own selfish goals regardless of anyone else’s lives, property, goods or even morals? Being bold can be powerful, yet it can fuck over people too and take unfair advantage. Where is the morality there? We are not all Jean Valjen. Morals come from being a good person, and this comes not from God but from choice. Perhaps I have to read more about this without having nightmares about that moral philosophy class I once did.
Again in the irony that is my life I’d probably quite enjoy it now.
Freedom at the expense of others is not freedom. Morals at the expense of others is not morality. Is this the latent (or perhaps obvious) Buddhist in me that wants to exist without harming anything? But I’ll quite happily eat anything with wings or a tail so I’m a hypocrite anyway. This balance I can take, but I’m not fucking over anyone for personal gain.
