I haven’t had a good walk in a while. Last time I was rained on quite considerably. Mercifully it was a short day compared to what we had planned, it was wet and miserable. I don’t think I’d get very far at the moment anyway as I now think my sore back might be a trapped nerve. Although Walking isn’t bad and is actually preferable to sitting down, I still hurt every step so that’s not great. Maybe I’ll take the dog on more of a longer dander tonight as I can’t work out.
I wonder why it was walking I got into? Why not running like DC or cycling like NH does? Perhaps it is because essentially I am skinflint and walking requires very little in the way of expensive gear and transport. Even less than running really. Or maybe it’s the accessibility, after all anyone with a pair of legs can walk. I think there is maybe something also in where I was brought up, in that I mean the position of my house rather than the town. I had to walk to my friend’s house to see them as I didn’t play with the kids in my street. Or cycle. And it was always a fair distance, my house being one of the last in the town. It was always a fair distance to get anywhere. I also walked to school every single day so it was something I was used to even by the time I was a teenager and walking seven miles for a night out. I’m glad M&B want to walk to school, I just wish I could say yes.
