Practice more humanity by being kinder to nature as a whole. I do not go out of my way to hurt people, the same should be true of a tree. I do not break the bones of my training partners as I do not wish to injure them. Likewise I do not break the branches, or even the bark or leaves from a tree, even if it would benefit me to do so. I do not kill spiders or flies and every attempt is made to put them out of the house safely when I have to. If I lived alone they could just stay. The thought of harming a ladybird…
Is this a Buddhist feeling, the latent spiritual presence inside me, the dominant force save for Odin and Thor? I quite happily eat all sorts of meat, more so now than ever if I watch my diet, which I’m not at the moment but probably should. How can I eat a chicken or a cow quite happily and would refuse to kill a ladybird? I suppose it is because its needless. There’s not even a sporting element in that to enjoy, not that I could really do that to a deer. Could I kill a cow in order to eat it, or a goat or a sheep if needed?
