The seed is the key; is the seed planted? For great things can grow from a tiny seed and can take many forms. The initial spark, the idea, what was the one that grew Last Wolf? The desire to have my own thing perhaps, the lack of a band at the time, the need for some sort of creative outlet even though I didn’t realise it. The seed needs nurtured of course, fed a diet of healthy things, not garbage TV or endless internet memes, constantly watered, put at the forefront of the mind, and a purpose. A desire to grow stronger and rise to be what you meant it to be, what was possible for it in all that time.
It also must be pruned. Maybe this is the area I’m lacking in. The seed, the idea transforms into a larger specimen which must be cut back continually in order to fulfil its potential, to fully grow and break out the forest with all unnecessary parts dead cut off. The dead weight needs to go so that only the healthy plant can live and thrive. Time to go and finish The Thorn issue 2. Time to fulfil that creative need and thrive.
