No dust gathers outside. With the windows open because its summer and the construction site next door, we are back to having filthy windowsills. A reminder of what it was like when we first moved in, a constant reminder also of the houses being built next to us within our own home. How does it not lie outside? Does it just evaporate? Or is it just left to the rain, of which there was plenty last night, to wash it all away at once?
If that’s the case then our interiors also need a blasting. We shower regularly, we wash and scrub our exterior, but do little for the insides. Is this what health, diet, exercise and spiritual practice truly are? An inner wash. A cleansing.
