There is a lot to be said for staying in the same place, really knowing a place. Its streets, plants, trees, people, wildlife even. I saw more foxes living in Dalry than I see here, though I regularly see the same one.
The year is coming to an end and I suppose we do feel more contemplative during these months. It makes sense. The question of ‘what I’m going to do with this journal’ has appeared over the ‘what am I going to do next’ thought. I was meant to be going to JM’s to polish off the last few pages of the Thorn. We started doing it in January! I’ve had to postpone due to the toothache. I’m eager now to get that out and it’s not looking like it’ll be any time soon either. My planning and organising for 2024 needs to be better. It couldn’t really be any worse. It’s all my fault though, maybe I need an accountability journal. A don’t get distracted procrastination journal. Stay on target like at the end of Star Wars. Pick a thing and complete it. This magazine and demo tape has taken a year and neither are finished. This needs to be addressed.
