A nice morning, clear, calm air, cool yet not cold. No more than a slight breeze, ground not too wet, bird song a plenty. 7:30 and it’s still dark. Yes November is a good month for being outside most of the time. Yesterday we had a great day in the woods, Dadventure Explorers. Lit a fire and had marshmallows in the deep woods. Lots of felling at Selm Muir right now and I can’t see our bit lasting that much longer, but for now we’ll enjoy it. BB fell on the leaves and M pretended to fall so she wouldn’t cry and then encouraged her up. It was magic. Then we walked along the Eternal Boggy Path of the Christmas Trees, which is now really bad since they chopped all the trees down. The replantation seems to be random too. For every part that seems managed there’s another that looks wild. Found another bit that would be good for a play in. They did well on that walk and were out for ages, which maybe helped in the excellent sleep that we all had. Well, all except for K, who still has the toothache. And we found a mushroom growing straight out a branch and M called the lone yellow tree the most beautiful thing. What an afternoon to be alive.
