Seasonal food in the air just now with this second coming of summer, the late summer, I don’t know why it’s known as the Indian summer. Whatever the reason, it is very welcome and the change in people’s attitudes and demeanour in these lovely mornings and evenings is evident. Weather is a massive topic of conversation in this country. Do they do that in France or Afghanistan quite as much as we Scots do? Or are we the only ones obsessed by it?
The sunsets currently around 8:30 are great and the mornings are still and calm. Long may that last; but it won’t before the collective depression and misery of soggy winter days arrive once more and people will hide, hibernate and not speak to each other until spring.
